Theme of "THE PROPOSAL"

INTRODUCTION


          BORN : 29 th January 1860
          DIED : 15 th July 1904


                    Anton Chekhov was a Russian playwrite and Short - story writer , who is considered to be among the greatest writers of short fiction in history. His career as a playwrite produced four classics, and his best short stories are held in high esteem by writers and critics. CHEKOV practiced as a medical doctor throughout most of his literacy career.



          " Medicine is my lawlfull wife ,"
he once said, " and literature is my mistress."

~ EGOISTIC PERSON

                   These three (3) characters all are having an egoistic nature. They were never listening to each other. They were believed that they are only right other all are wrong. Natalya believed that oxan meadows are her but actually they were of lomov. But for that silly things they both fought a lot and chubukov told lomov to leave his home.


        " You can't call me an EGOIST, when I stand for my self respect."


~MONEY - MINDED People

                        Natalya and Lomov both are money - minded . They were Loving money not people. Lomov went to propose Natalya because her father was an owner of the land and after his death all things were of natalya.

           " The money mind - " we feel it as necessary but others think it as luxury."


                       Natalya was also not loving lomov but she wanted to marry him for money.

       

     

DOUBLE - FACED People

                               Natalya , lomov and chubukov all three are double faced from inside and were different from outside. Lomov was showing outside that he wanted to marry Natalya because he loves her bt it was not like that he wanted to marry her becaus of money .


~ IMMATURITY OF PEOPLE

     

                     Natalya and Lomov are fighting because of their dogs and oxan meadows . Chubukov as the aged person should not fight like this but he is also the same he is fighting with lomov as a immature person.


~ MARRIAGE PROPOSAL

                         Lomov came for marriage proposal but both fought because of oxan meadows and after that they both fought because of their dogs. Marriage proposal was in side and they both started fighting.


~ SUPERIORITY OF DOGS
       

                    " A Dog is one of the few things in life that is as it seems ".

          Lomov and Natalya both were very superior for their dogs. They both love their dogs a lot .


~ CONCLUSION

                   It's all about that natalya and lomovs marriage are not romantic. It is based on who love each other by fighting. Lomov and natalya act like a married couple before they become engaged.
